I worked as the ETSU’s first ever student choreographer for the Bert C. Bach’s production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. This was such a phenomenal experience as I got to work with an amazing student design team, a wonderful director, and an engaged cast of all my peers.

I believe one of my strengths as a choreographer is my teaching style. I am very intentional about creating engaging, fun and challenging choreography that not only challenges my cast, but reminds them that they are dancers, regardless of how much formal dance training they have.

I also got to put my own quirky dance style into the show and it was so fun! I was inspired by elementary and middle school dance moves like breaking the stick, dabbing, and even “67”! I wanted to incorporate this juvenile choregraphy into the pieces to engage the audience members as well as the cast into the world of the play.
